The OARG is a highly strategic partner to the business community and other stakeholders and is mandated to ensure an efficient and effective administration and registration of
entities such as business, land, industrial property, marriages, and estates of deceased
persons as mandated by law. It is a catalyst for the creation of an enabling environment for
doing business in Sierra Leone. Due to legislative and institutional reforms implemented by
the Government with the assistance of the World Bank through the Investment Finance Community (IFC), and the Investment Climate Facility for Africa (ICF), Sierra Leone has
tremendously reduced the processes for the start of a business, and has created a One-
Stop-Shop housing the OARG, National Revenue Authority, and the Freetown City Council,
in the process of automating all its records. It has rehabilitated, refurbished, and equipped
its Freetown Office and established three offices in the provincial towns, thus affording
accessibility in the delivery of our services nationwide.
